Inductance Simulators and Their Application to the 4th Order Elliptic Lowpass Ladder Filter Using CMOS VD-DIBAs

This paper presents inductance simulators using the voltage differencing differential input buffered amplifier (VD-DIBA) as an active building block. Three types of simulators, including floating lossless inductance, series inductance-resistance, and parallel inductance-resistance are proposed, in addition to their application 4th order elliptic lowpass ladder filter. The simple design procedures these a circuit block diagram also given. proposed employ two VD-DIBAs passive elements. complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) VD-DIBA used this utilizes multiple-input (MOS) transistor technique achieve compact structure with minimum count transistors. Thanks technique, offers high performances compared other CMOS structures presented literature. applications designed simulated Cadence environment 0.18 µm process from Taiwan manufacturing company (TSMC). Using supply ±0.9 V, linear operation is obtained over range −0.5 V 0.5 V. (LP) filter realized shows dynamic (DR) 80 dB for total harmonic distortion (THD) 2% at 1 kHz 1.8 peak-to-peak output. In addition, experimental results by constructed available commercial components LM13700 AD830. simulation agreement ones, confirming advantages application.
